- Welsh Weight Training Association Qualifications

Coach—NVQ Level 2 Compatible
Qualified to teach weight training exercises and issue specific programmes to individuals, as specified in the Welsh Weight Training Association basic coaches course manual.

Advanced Coach—NVQ Level 3 Compatible
An in depth Coaches Course, held in conjunction with further and higher education sports related qualifications. This grade is available to students who are attending relevant FE & HE courses. (This level is Instructor compatible without specified time period experience as a Coach.
Fitness Training - Welsh Weight Training Association Qualifications
Instructor – NVQ Level 3 Compatible>
Qualified to instruct and implement individual, sports related, and group weight training programmes. Supervise Coaches administer the general working of a weight training environment. To upgrade from Coach to Instructor requires a minimum of twelve months practical experience as a Coach. In cases of candidates with relative previous experience in weight training prior to attaining Coaches qualification, consideration will be given to earlier upgrading to Instructor.

Instructor/Examiner—NVQ Level 3 Compatible
Qualified to instruct / examine to the level of basic Coach. To apply to upgrade to Instructor / Examiner requires a minimum of two years practical experience as an Instructor. Candidates after successfully completing the Instructor / Examiner course, will be required to attend three basic coaches courses.
Consideration will be given to candidates of above average ability and relevant previous experience. Must be qualified as D32, D33 Assessors (or equivalent).

Senior Instructor/Examiner—NVQ Level 3 Compatible
Qualified to instruct / examine and recommend qualifications and upgrading to the grade of Instructor.

To apply to upgrade from Instructor / Examiner to Senior Instructor / Examiner requires a minimum of five years total experience within the Welsh Weight Training Association Coaching Structure. During this period, the last three years must have been in practical experience as an Instructor / Examiner invigilating on a minimum of two Coaches Courses each Year.
