- Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering

Food Science Courses - Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety in CateringThis qualification will replace the current Intermediate Certificate in Food Safety and is aimed primarily at managers and supervisors in medium and large manufacturing or catering businesses.  It is also particularly relevant for those who have to develop or monitor HACCP based food safety management procedures and systems.  It will assist candidates in developing detailed knowledge and skills to supervise and train others in the field of food safety and focuses on six key areas including – legislation, microbiology, Food Safety Management Systems, contamination, temperature control and cleaning.

Duration – 3½ days including examinations (minimum 18 hours teaching time)

Assessment – multiple choice question exam (60 questions) and a short assignment completed under examination conditions.

(Candidates who achieve the CIEH Level 3 Award in Implementing Food Safety Management Procedures will gain credit towards the CIEH Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering and need only attend two of the three parts of training and sit the multiple choice question examination and pass to achieve the full Level 3 Award).
